The KZT contamination ring is a PTFE dust seal designed to prevent foreign particles such as dust, sand, and debris from entering hydraulic cylinders. It features a split design for easy installation and utilizes the unique properties of PTFE material to both scrape and capture contaminants through particle embedment, protecting the piston rod and primary seals from abrasive wear .

Product Overview
The KZT contamination ring is an essential protective component for hydraulic cylinders operating in dusty environments such as construction sites, mines, and agricultural fields. Unlike standard wiper seals that simply scrape contaminants off the rod surface, KZT rings are specifically designed to trap and embed hard particles within the PTFE material, preventing them from scratching the rod or damaging the main seal .
How It Works
KZT dust seals operate through a combination of scraping and particle capture. The PTFE lip provides intimate contact with the piston rod surface, wiping away adhered contaminants. The special PTFE formulation allows hard particles to become embedded into the seal material rather than being dragged against the rod surface, effectively “burying” contaminants .
The KZT ring also provides a certain degree of guiding function, absorbing radial forces and reducing wear on both the rod and the cylinder .
